Since we had already covered the parts of speech, we moved a step further by giving them small stories to read and understand. We sat in small groups and went through the story word by word, making them familiar with all the new words which came along. This should assist us in expanding their vocabulary to such an extent that they are at least capable of understanding their textbooks without any external help.
